KAVRI Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using KAVRI, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use KAVRI.

2. Description of KAVRI

KAVRI is a two-factor authentication (TOTP) app for Windows and Android. It generates and stores authenticator codes in an encrypted local vault on your device, and offers optional, user-initiated backup and cross-device sync features. KAVRI is not a password manager, does not provide passkeys or browser autofill, and does not offer a browser extension.

3. User responsibilities

You are responsible for the accounts and information you add to KAVRI, for keeping your device secure, and for safeguarding any backup files, passwords, or Recovery Keys you create. KAVRI cannot recover your data on your behalf if it is lost.

4. Device and recovery responsibility

Because KAVRI stores data locally by default, losing access to your device without a valid backup or Recovery Key may mean permanent loss of the accounts stored in KAVRI. We strongly encourage creating a backup and storing your Recovery Key somewhere safe. If you enable KAVRI Sync, keeping at least one other device signed in can also help you regain access.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use KAVRI for any unlawful purpose, to attempt to reverse engineer or disrupt the app's security mechanisms, or to use KAVRI in a way that infringes the rights of others.

6. Third-party services

KAVRI may interact with third-party services you choose to connect, such as Google, for optional features like Sync and Backup. Your use of those third-party services is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

7. Google services

If you connect a Google account, KAVRI accesses only the Google services and scopes needed to provide the Sync and Backup features you enable, as described in our Privacy Policy. Connecting Google is optional and can be disconnected at any time from KAVRI's settings.

8. Availability

KAVRI is provided on an "as available" basis. Features, including optional Sync and Backup, depend on the continued availability of third-party services such as Google and may be interrupted or changed from time to time.

9. Security limitations

KAVRI is designed with multiple layers of protection, including local encryption and platform-backed key storage, but no software can guarantee absolute security. KAVRI does not claim to be unhackable or immune to compromise, and you use it at your own risk.

10. Updates and changes

We may update KAVRI and these Terms from time to time. Material changes to these Terms will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Continued use of KAVRI after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
